    A Visually Stunning, Emotionally Powerful Masterpiece Metropolis is an absolute triumph of animated cinema, bold, beautiful, and deeply moving. Directed by Rintaro and written by Akira’s Katsuhiro Otomo, this film brings Osamu Tezuka’s vision to life in spectacular fashion. The retro-futuristic cityscapes are breathtaking, seamlessly blending hand-drawn animation with early CG in a way that still holds up today. Beyond its visual brilliance, Metropolis tells a poignant story about identity, class, and humanity. Tima’s tragic journey is touching and unforgettable, and the emotional core of the film hits hard, especially during its haunting finale set to Ray Charles’ “I Can’t Stop Loving You.” With its thoughtful themes, unforgettable score, and masterful animation, Metropolis isn’t just a great anime, it’s one of the greatest animated films ever made.

    What it lacks in plot it more than makes up for stylistically, one of the best animated, and best hand drawn worlds ever created. If ever there wqs an argumenr for hand drawn over computer based animation this is it.
