I 1930'erne får rygter om en gigantisk menneskeabe kaldet King Kong en gruppe forskere med smag for eventyr til at udforske isoleret ø ved Sumatra. Øen viser sig at være beboet af både en enorm abe og flere fortidsdyr. Forskerne beslutter sig for at indfange Kong og bringe ham hjem til New York. Men den mægtige King Kong er ikke sådan lige at lægge i lænker.

    It's faithful to the original with additional bits that are mostly welcomed and that add depth. The realisation of Kong is still spectacular decades later. If this was trimmed by 45 minutes or so I think it could've been a masterpiece. I watched it with kids and they loved it.

    A really good movie. It was a thriller with, action, adventure and romance. I really enjoyed this King Kong movie.

    You can tell Peter Jackson loves this story. Beyond all the special effects, he leaves a soul on screen with the immense talents of Andy Serkis and Naomi Watts. It’s not a perfect film, but what’s done right is pure, thrilling, and ‘beautiful’. This King Kong shows us connection and heart like never before.
