It's a decent movie. However, Sean Penn, though a great actor, as a director tends to stretch movies out way too far. This could easily have been an hour shorter

Love this movie and being in Alaska had me wanting to revisit it. It’s a gorgeous looking film that wonderfully captures Chris McCandless’ romanticism and his yearning to get away from it all, while simultaneously emphasizing the sadness left in his wake — the people that knew him and loved him that failed to lure him into staying around. Tragic and beautiful, it’s one of my favorites.
