It is easy to see why Matt Damon and Ben Affleck’s first script made such a big impact, and Robin Williams gives the standout performance by far. Still, the story did not fully work for me, and maybe part of that is because I am watching it more than 20 years after its release, from a very different time and perspective.

It doesn't feel especially original or even that feasible but it's just done so well, particularly the characters and their interactions. It broke me down, patted me on the head and waved me away to be reborn. Highly recommended.
