Refuse to perpetuate that cruelty and leave, or tear yourself and everyone around you apart. Not as relentlessly paced as Fury Road, but with setpieces that rise to (and even exceed) the first movie, Furiosa manages to feel like an extension of the first movie even a decade apart.

This flick is a high-octane, adrenaline-pumping thrill ride that delves deep into the origins of one of the franchise’s most compelling characters, Furiosa. The plot centers around Furiosa (played by Alyla Browne in her younger years) who rises against the tyrannical ruler Dementus (Chris Hemsworth) in a relentless pursuit of her homeland. Alongside her are a group of fierce female prisoners, deranged worshippers, and a big can of whoop-ass. Together, they navigate a perilous journey filled with explosive action and poignant moments of camaraderie and resilience. The action scenes are nothing short of spectacular. Miller has outdone himself, crafting sequences that are both breathtaking and brutal, showcasing the harsh reality of this dystopian world. The choreography is meticulously executed, with every car chase and combat scene leaving you anxiously awaiting the next. The wasteland itself is a character, rendered in hauntingly beautiful detail that makes the world feel both vast and suffocatingly claustrophobic. Alyla Browne's performance as the young Furiosa is exceptional. She brings a raw intensity to the role, capturing the character’s fierce determination and vulnerability. Her portrayal provides a deeper understanding of Furiosa's motivations and the experiences that shaped her into the formidable warrior we first met in Fury Road. And do not fret for Anya Taylor-Joy taking over the older version since she effortless continues with an equally spectacular performance. Miller's storytelling is masterful, weaving a tale of vengeance that is both personal and epic in scale. He provides a rich backstory for Furiosa, which I believe she needed, answering questions and expanding the lore in a way that feels satisfying. The film is a testament to his vision, offering a deeper exploration of the themes and characters that have made the Mad Max series so enduring. If you are wondering about good ole' Max Rockatansky's presence, he does make an appearance, albeit briefly. His cameo is a clever nod to the franchise’s roots, and while fleeting, it’s a moment that fans will appreciate. The flick is a well-made, gripping tale of vengeance and survival. It stands as a worthy addition to the Mad Max universe, offering both a thrilling ride and a compelling exploration of one of its most intriguing characters. George Miller has once again delivered a film that is as thought-provoking as it is exhilarating, solidifying Furiosa’s place as a central figure in this iconic saga. If you have been snoozing on this sequel for some reason, don't. It is well worth the watch.
- Antonio28. december 2025Didn't have many expectations going into this one. Just figured if anything, I was going to be bored within 20 minutes, but I wasn't. Good film overall. I felt that Hemsworth was good with his character, but was a bit much at times with the comedic stuff. Could've been more serious but it didn't ruin the film for me. Good effects, good story, good stuff and worth a watch if you've seen em all... or only a few.
