A PERFECT HORROR FILM. I revisit this movie yearly, and each time I love it even more. Not for the squeamish or weak-of-heart. You will squirm and love every second of it!

Been getting kind of hyped for the new Evil Dead Rise and figured I better catch up on this one which has been on my watchlist for a while. Man this movie rips! It has some really excellent cinematic imagery, gruesome kills and fantastic looking effects. Only things keeping it from an even higher score is that it sometimes falls into the horror trap of characters making really dumb choices. Most of that can be forgiven, though, given how much fun this was. Bring on Rise…

I gather that reading books is just a BAD MUFFUK'N IDEA! Judging from the Evil Dead movie series anyhow! Which is clearly... 100% accurate. We need to Fahrenheit 451 this bish, and BAN, THEN BURN ALL BOOKS to keep evil from entering this realm!

this is top-tier horror. the performances are excellent across the board. rewatching it reminded me why i thought the first time that i’d never sit through it again cuz the gore is relentless and somehow keeps finding ways to shock you when you least expect it. jane levy is especially fantastic she’s just incredibly good in horror. the rest of the cast is great too delivering superb acting. i still remember watching it with my whole family, and despite how intense it was, we had an amazing time with it.

Pretty cool overall; nothing particularly super scary or surprising, but the gore was fun; the main actress’s performance throughout and the last act were the best parts.
