In the municipality of Bjurholm, dairy farmer Mats-Åke continues to run the family farm together with his Thai partner and her seasonal relatives. The ladyboy Pinit also lives on the farm. During the day, "Pinnen" herds cows like a Norrland cowboy and at night she dominates the dance floor in town as a fabulous disco princess. In one of the neighboring farms lives Thongluk, who left a violent and jealous husband to start a new life for herself and her son in Sweden. Together with her shy Swedish farmer, she dreams of a well-deserved vacation, if only the new modern milking robot could start working. Not far away, some Thai monks live in a Västerbotten farm. On a mountain, a huge Buddha statue stands and looks out over a forest lake. Twenty years since the first berry pickers appeared in the Norrland forests, the hinterland is no longer what it once was. A new Sweden is taking shape. In Drottninglandet we meet three people with deeply human dreams of love and a more bearable life. They live in a place where there is no longer any room for prejudice.
