It has that unmistakable low-budget, offbeat energy where you can tell the filmmakers were more interested in making something strange and memorable than playing it safe. The humor is dark and often absurd, while the story gradually takes a more unsettling turn as the characters head deeper into the wilderness. Jason Lee and Joey Lauren Adams are both great, and the whole cast fits the scruffy, dysfunctional atmosphere perfectly. It feels like a movie made by people who genuinely wanted to have fun with the material. It can be uneven and occasionally feels like it's wandering around almost as much as the characters are, but honestly, that's part of its charm. 4/5 — A quirky, dark, underrated '90s indie that's absolutely worth discovering.
