But this time everything seems to be getting out of hand: Maertens' nephew, the newly married Thomas, has told his young wife Julia a stupid white lie. The sensitive Julia is suffering from her parents' divorce, and so Thomas fibs to her, saying that at least he comes from a happy family. When Julia is eager to meet her dream in-laws, Thomas gets into trouble because his parents are also divorced. In his distress, Thomas turns to his uncle. The long-established law firm boss now "asks" the lawyer Elvira, who works for him, to take on the role of the mother. At first reluctantly, then with goodwill, Elvira takes part in the comedy. The change of image has a very invigorating effect on the sour-faced lawyer, who buys herself a chic new outfit at the boss's expense. But Elvira's miraculous transformation from caterpillar to butterfly and the conspiratorial meetings in the boss's office seem highly suspicious to his colleague Millosch. When Elvira travels to Mallorca on a secret mission, where Julia and Thomas want to get married in church, Millosch suspects a conspiracy and follows his colleague. When he meets Julia, who thinks he is Elvira's lovable husband, Millosch's acting talent is also called upon. The two quarrelers are now forced to be nice to each other - and in doing so, against their will, they develop a taste for it.
