Da Muffy St. John inviterede sine venner fra college op til forældrenes afsondrede hus på en ø til deres livs bedste oplevelse, glemte hun at fortælle dem, at det kunne blive deres livs sidste oplevelse. Så snart de unge ankommer til øen, er der én der begynder at tynde gæstelisten... ét mord ad gangen. Og hvad der starter som en weekend med harmløs "aprilsspøg" ender med at blive en blodig kamp for at overleve...

    Pretty typical slasher film, but with a plot twist. Yet, the bigger twist is a slasher flick having a hint of intelligence applied to it. Better than average movie for it's genre.

    Wasn't really sure what to expect from this one, but it definitely wasn't what I thought it would be. It starts off like a typical 80s slasher, then slowly goes in its own direction. The mansion is a great setting, the atmosphere is surprisingly good, and I liked that it focused more on the mystery than just piling up kills. It keeps you guessing for most of the runtime, which made it a fun watch. It can be pretty slow, and a lot of the characters are just... there. If you're going in expecting a really bloody slasher, this probably isn't going to scratch that itch. The ending is one of those things you'll either love or hate, but I appreciated that it tried something different. Not one of my favorite slashers from the 80s, but definitely one of the more unique ones.

    My quick rating 6.1/10. Seen it many times, and still a classic. For some reason, I never rated it. Skip the remake, and make sure to see the original. Seems to get better every time I watch it.
