Rumskibet Nostromo fungerer som slæbebåd i rummet og er netop nu ved at fragte et kæmpe raffinaderi. De modtager et nødsignal der kunne tyde på intelligent liv, og da de undersøger sagen finder de en mængde pupper. Op af en af pupperne springer en fremmed livsform. Og da det senere bliver klart at den har lagt æg inde i kroppen på et af besætningsmedlemmer kan alle tiders mareridt begynde.

    Just the perfect horror and possibly my favorite Sci-Fi film ever. The pacing is masterful. Ridley stretches out each kill to its furthest point of tension. The biomechanical designs by Geiger are impossibly detailed and intricate. And it's just a film that has a slightly slow start but never steps crescendoing until it's very last minute.

    Alien is one of the best and most iconic sci-fi horror films ever made! I'd say it competes with The Thing (1982) as THE best.

    This is one of the most phenomenal and Iconic movies of its time. From the character development and design, to the iconic set and practical effects; Alien really did set the tone for an entire Genre. Always worth watch, My favorite all time movie. Ellen Ripley is one of the most well written Female Main Characters. The World is full of intrigue, this movie left an incredible legacy.

    It’s a relentless, claustrophobic horror that mixes science fiction with pure terror. Once it gets cooking, almost every frame is soaked in tension.

    Incredibly made in '79. The sets are incredible. Great camera work and editing. Some effects haven't aged as well. Inventive monster.

    A tense tale of exploitation and survival with some of the most gorgeous set design in all of cinematic history. Perhaps the whole ‘guy in a suit plays the alien’ might come across as silly and dated to some but it’s worth looking through all the quiet moments of tension. A score that sits and swells, shadow and light aim to direct and confuse. These all play together so well in the purpose that dreaded unknown is what is coming for you and all hope is lost. Alien is more than a slasher film in space. It’s an unparalleled triumph for its time that defied modern and classic conventions to create a truly unique vision on horror that plays with imagination in a way that it is truly timeless.

    Fantastic movie. Had seen bits of it here and there many times on tv throughout my life, but finally watched it properly a couple of years ago. It blew me away. How did they do this in 1979?!
