- James SaenzNovember 7, 2025i tried watching this on three separate occasions in the past week and fell asleep each time. tonight i locked in and watched it all the way through, but at what cost? it’s so bland and uninspired, and eschewing the found footage format makes it feel atonal with the rest of the series and also removes the only thing that would’ve made it seem somewhat interesting. the acting is also so dull and everything feels like a first take. there are certainly worse films out there, but i might actually glean more entertainment out of them because this was just so barren. this movie is made even more disappointing because it feels like it tried to retcon and tie together all of the previous films and fumbled that horribly; the carmichael manor already accomplished that without needing to explain every little connection and ended up being the best installment of the series, so i genuinely don’t understand what any of us are doing here. the only scene with any sort of sauce is the exorcism scene purely for the gore and sound design. stephen congnetti, you’re a hack but one that clearly has pull with shudder. please teach me your secrets of extortion.
- NiztradamusNovember 3, 2025Was bearly kept awake by the occasional loud noises. Also what happened to the found footage style the franchise is known for? This feels like just another c-tier horror movie that doesn't even have an actual end. The whole movie is more of a prologue to the next movie.
- cultfilmlikerAugust 22, 2025Oh man what a giant stinker this is lmao woooof. Not even my double edible could save this shit. Although….I laughed out loud at least three times at parts not meant to be funny….alone in the theater. The “nursery rhyme” was horrendously bad. Like……the fact they used it more than once, just…..wow. It’s sooo campy. Love that it still has those haunted house vibes tho The Final Destination ripoff is evident just from the title, but then they took all the fun out of both franchises lmao Worst of all, not scary!! I walked out and someone said, “I thought it was pretty good! I liked it more than…” lemme just stop you there. What is going on in this world
