I like watching action and horror films. Some of my favorite ones are Lord of The Rings and The Dark Knight. I’m also a big FNaF fan
- The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes
To prepare myself for the upcoming Hunger Games movie, and since I was done with the main four, I finally decided to watch this movie for the first time. The first thing I wanna say about this movie is the set design, it looks really cool and I really enjoyed the 1930s like style Panem had to it. It was also interesting to see how the games used to be and how the map back then wasn't a giant rain forest and instead just like a building. They also did a good job of showing how terrifying the games are to everyone. The performances, especially from Tom Blyth who plays Snow, were really good and sometimes you almost forget how Snow in this movie is the SAME person as the monster who tyrannically ruled Panem in the earlier films. My only complaints are that while most of the songs were decent, I didn't really like some of them. And the Katniss reference was just a little goofy. But overall, it was a really good movie and I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it!The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes - Backrooms
I went into this movie with fairly high hopes, I'm a fan of Parsons's short films, I know the lore and it's been on my watchlist for a long time. I was finally able to see it yesterday at my friend's house and I had a really good time! The main character in this film can sometimes be quite unlikable, but that's kind of what works about him and Chiwetel Ejiofor gave a good performance. Renate Reinsve, who plays the therapist, was also pretty good and I think her character was probably my favorite. When it comes to the horror effectiveness, while the film didn't absolutely freak me out, it did successfully create that unsettling atmosphere of Kane Parsons's original series and there were some pretty damn scary scenes! I also love how they primarily used practical effects for the backrooms and its creatures which made it feel more realistic and even creepier. I watched this last night on Netflix with a very open mind because I have not read the book. All I knew about the movie was that it was of course a Nolan film, it's based on a book, it's about two rivaling magicians, and a lot of people like it. And I can honestly say that I had a very good time! Like my title suggests, the special effects used for the film's magic tricks are not only amazing, they feel and look like REAL magic. There were bunch of instances like this where I was like: "how did they do this??!!", though that's not unusual for a Nolan movie as he is known for his practical effects. Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman, who play the two leads, do a great job at portraying their characters' struggles, sacrifices and rivalry against each other. There are many instances where they can be very unlikable, yet also sympathetic. The rest of the already stacked cast in this movie are very good too and give great performances from actors like Andy Serkis, Scarlett Johansson, Michael Caine and even David Bowie (yes, the singer). My only real problem is that the various time jumps were a little hard to keep up with in the beginning. But by time I was able to keep up. Overall, very good movie and I highly recommend it to those who have not seen it!The Prestige - Squid Game • Season 1
One of the best seasons of television I’ve seen in a while. To finally click the play button on the first episode for the first time after all the hype will always be a golden experience! The characters were amazing and when any of them died, it was really sad. All the games were super compelling and entertaining to watch, except marbles, that was just sad to watch. The only real critique I think everyone has with the first season is the VIP acting, which is admittedly pretty bad but even then, I didn’t hate watching them. My favorite episode was probably the one with marbles, but the other episodes were great too. The ending also broke my heart, it was so sad. Overall, great season and I can’t wait to watch the other ones!Squid Game • Season 1
- When I first watched The Dark Knight Rises, I remember liking it, but I also heavily complained about it in my review on Plex. During this weekend, I decided to give it a rewatch, and I liked it much more than I remembered. I still do have some of my old criticisms with, but for the most part I had a very good time. All the actors are phenomenal in this film, and Tom Hardy’s Bane easily goes down as one of the greatest comic book-movie villains of all time. His quotes are still running free in my head. The action sequences are a lot bigger and bombastic than the first two, and I personally thought they were awesome and very entertaining. And Hans Zimmer’s music, HOLY SHIT! Talk about a f**king banger of a score. I also found a lot of similarities between this movie and The Dark Knight Returns, which is one of my favorite comics of all time and I liked the elements of it that they put in this film. Overall, I had a very good time with this movie. In my old review, I gave it a 3,5/5 stars, but after rewatching, it deserves at least 4 stars!
So, I rewatched The Dark Knight Rises
- When I checked some stuff about the movie a few days before it was released, I saw a bunch of people that had already reviewed this movie and saying that it was GOING to suck or that it’s GOING to be terrible, like you can’t review a movie before you’ve seen it. I watched the movie a few days ago and I thought it was great, and I don’t see any reason to why people would hate on it before it released. Sure it’s long, but so are many movies that people like; Lord Of The Rings, The Godfather, Titanic, and the list goes on. And yeah, it does make significant changes to Homer’s book, now I haven’t read the book though I know a lot about it but here’s the thing many people fail to understand: The Odyssey is one of the most complex and big stories ever, and if you’re gonna adapt it into film, you gotta make significant changes in order for it to work. Otherwise it would be like 4 hours long which i think people wouldn’t like any better. Don’t review a film unless you’ve seen it.
Why did people do this??
- Yes, In my opinion it’s good. I think this movie gave a lot that the first movie missed and I thought that the action was AWESOME and the acting is not as bad as many people say, plus it has some jump-scares that actually really frightened me at the theatre. I gave it an 8/10 because it’s a very fun movie and it works as a movie for the fans but they do need to improve the script writing, if they do that but maintain the action and scares from this, FNaF 3 movie will be perfect! But what do you guys think?
