Wilbur Post moves into a house with a barn and inside that barn is Mister Ed, a horse who only talks to him. As a kid, I didn’t question it. The lips moved, the voice came out and it was hilarious. Mister Ed was sarcastic, clever and always causing trouble. Wilbur was the straight man, constantly trying to explain away the chaos. The show was gentle, silly and oddly comforting. No violence, no stress, just a man and his horse having sitcom misadventures.
