- flavo432025年12月7日American Gods is a bold and imaginative series that explores the clash between ancient deities and modern-day icons, weaving mythology into contemporary life with striking originality. Based on Neil Gaiman’s novel, the show examines faith, belief, and identity through a surreal yet thought-provoking lens. Its central conflict—old gods struggling to remain relevant against the rise of new gods representing technology, media, and globalization—creates a fascinating allegory for cultural change. The visuals are stunning, often dreamlike, and the storytelling balances mystery with philosophical depth. Performances, particularly from Ian McShane as Mr. Wednesday, bring gravitas and charisma to the narrative. While the pacing can be uneven, the series remains inspiring in its ambition, challenging viewers to reflect on what faith means in a modern world. American Gods is not just a fantasy drama—it’s a meditation on belief, power, and the myths that shape human existence.
- Big Hulky2026年4月3日American Meh. - The characters who are meant to impose fear or intimidation do no such thing. Odin informs Shadow that you don't want to mess with Mr. World because he's sO SpOoKeY, but he does absolutely nothing of note to solidify him as badass. > This mainly applies to the "New Gods". They're ALL wack, especially Mr. World. - Is there genuinely any reason for Bilquis being in the show? The answer is no. She doesn't pick a side between the New/Old Gods, she's made out to be useful for something, but doesn't show anything that proves it. The only thing she does is suck people into her vagina realm, clogging the runtime of the episode for 5+ minutes. If those scenes led to something story wise, then yeah, cool, whatever, but they don't. + The ending completely threw me off guard. It was the only scene in the show that made me excited to see the next episode, then the show was cancelled. - Easter's powers showcase was cool, but nothing came of it. I was expecting that moment to be a turning point for the Old Gods, manipulating people into praying to them. Building the Old God's powers up to new heights, basically forcing the New Gods to adapt to the new power level or be squashed. - Overall, the lack of powers from the Gods made the show feel lackluster to me. Everything's a joke to them. Giggle here, chuckle there, not many extremely serious moments that made you think "Oh, damn. I'm looking at a god on my screen." When Odin shows Shadow who he is, and when the gods ride the Carousel and get suited into their attire are the only moments that come to mind where they seem somewhat serious.
- trrs2026年2月5日A show that is well executed with a very interesting story. What's cool is how they have inner stories that show some backgrounds of gods and some lore behind them. Its a shame it was canceled because with out spoiling anything it will leave you disappointed wanting more. Even knowing itll never get a definitive ending i still did like the show from start to finish.
