The personal stakes feel muddled, leaving it unclear what the film is trying to say about its characters, their ambitions, or the dangers they face. As a result, while the quality of craft and acting is there, the emotional and narrative resonance is lacking. Ultimately, Planetarium is a film that looks the part and flirts with compelling ideas, but it doesn’t land with the impact it aims for, leaving a beautifully produced but oddly hollow experience.
