- Really Cool2026年3月15日Kinda boring. But worth watching once.
- anthonys1672025年11月17日Fell asleep 😂
- Kevin Ward2025年11月17日Initial reaction out of the theater was that I really didn’t like it. But I acknowledge that it might enjoy it more on repeat watch. The film attempts to keep absolutely everything a mystery for the first two thirds of the film. Liz (Tatiana Maslany) and her boyfriend, Malcolm (Rossif Sutherland), take a trip to his cabin in the woods for a secluded, romantic weekend away. But when Malcolm gets called away for his work, Liz starts to experience some strange happenings. The film has a creepy atmosphere and it’s shot particularly well and utilizes some creative transitions. One in particular with Liz soaking in a tub that transitions to a flowing river really stood out. Flowing water is frequently used for these transitions. And while I’m not normally frustrated by “slow burn” thrillers. This one kind of tried my patience. The film attempts to add some creepy elements, but it’s so concerned with not revealing anything about anything, that the creep factor is extremely muted. We get no idea even remotely of what’s happening in the background. And to be honest, half of the creepy things that occur during the slow build aren’t even witnessed by Liz—only the audience. Fog writing on the windows, paintings stretching in the background…Liz doesn’t see these things happen. Then when we finally get to some answers it’s handled with an pretty heavy exposition dump and for the last 20 minutes we finally get some of the creepier imagery. But even at that I wasn’t sufficiently creeped out. I liked the various plays on the word Keeper. Malcolm who seems to be a bit of a serial monogamist, refers to Liz as a “keeper” suggesting he’s finally found someone to settle down. Liz’s friend (on the phone) is suspicious that Malcolm has a wife and kids and believes that he’s bringing her to the cabin as his “kept” woman. There’s also a caretake/housekeeper potential at play here. Outside of this commentary about commitment averse men, I was pretty disappointed by this. It’s over explained, and also under explained, with loose ends (what happened to Darren exactly?) and ultimately wasn’t scary or creepy enough for my taste. I think it has potential for improvement on a second watch, but it’s not one I’m eager to check out again right away.
- Deadbeat__atdawn2026年1月15日Please stop letting this guy make movies
- eyeofthetornado2025年11月21日Osgood Perkins’ Keeper plays like an impressionistic fever dream, a horror film smeared with the texture of disgusting maleness, men whose cruelty curdles into myth, and whose past sins mutate into living things. The cabin becomes a psychic chamber where personalities rot in symbolic form. 1. The Patriarchal Parasite / Malcolm Malcolm is the film’s embodiment of corrupted masculinity: a man feeding off the violence he once committed, kept alive by the monstrous offspring of his own brutality. He doesn’t just hide his crime he nurtures it. Perkins frames him as the decay of male ego, a body sustained by poison rather than conscience. 2. The Repressed Witness / Liz Liz drifts through the film like a fractured mirror reflecting the damage around her. She sees visions, distortions, impossible images an impressionistic representation of what it means to witness male violence without power to rewrite it. Her reality bends under the weight of lies and half-told histories, making her the film’s trembling moral center. 3. The Burdened Legacy / The Creatures and the “Mother” The supernatural horrors are not random monsters but the incarnations of old male sins. They are the children of violence, the physical residue of guilt Malcolm and Darren tried to bury. Their existence exposes how horrific acts never die they ferment, mutate, and crawl back up to the surface. Perkins uses these three allegories to build a film that is intimate, surreal, and morally rancid. Keeper becomes not just a horror story, but an impressionistic, nightmarish portrait of masculinity gone septic and the people forced to live in its shadow.
- Omar Otero2026年3月1日WTF?! Movie was all over the place. Had no idea what was happening most the time.
- ricomckee2025年12月30日Not a keeper. It almost appears as if they wrote the movie as they filmed it and on the last day said…here’s a plot. It comes off as an exploitative film of men using woman as a means to the Fountain of youth which made little sense because the men were not youthful. Then it’s a ghost story. Then it’s a drug hallucination. Finally it’s a “ We as kids trapped a demon and made a deal with it story oh by the way the demon could have eaten us at anytime” No logic, no scares, no real gore unless you like honey.
- Bobby Polzer2026年2月26日I really missed the horror in this “horror” mystery. It’s more mystery than horror.
- DavidBunnyDad2025年12月11日I feel like Osgood Perkins will eventually direct a good movie, even if it's by accident. He's got style, but he struggles with story. Keeper is a prime example; good setup, then it turns into a bunch of claptrap.
- Spanktacular2026年2月21日Incredible art direction, okay plot. Watch it if you like slow-burn ethereal.
- Joebin2026年2月5日This movie made no fucking sense. Absolute garbage. I wish I had known the director was the guy from Long Legs before I watched it.
- Paul Walsh2026年2月3日I really enjoyed this movie. Many have criticized its ambiguity but I had no issue understanding the plot or the resolution. Recommended.
- Clarence Boddicker2026年1月29日Weird movie with really weird people in it. There are only a few random scares inside a random plot, and the the ending was actually the part of it.
- Mr. D2026年1月20日Watched it blind. Expected a bore but it is a new, unique story that kept my interest. Accurately a "mystery, horror". Lots of creepy shit. Looks like a lot of bad reviews. My advice? Enjoy the creativity when you can get it 🍻
- sopula2026年1月16日excellent visual stuff cool concept unfortunately ineffective in its attempt to have tension and be scary would have been better as a short film i just wanted to see more of the monsters
