His chemistry with Awkwafina works well, balancing her transformation from an unwitting victim into an unexpected hero. Awkwafina’s performance as the clueless Katie, who reluctantly steps into the role of a fighter, adds a relatable touch of humor and heart to the film. While the concept is ripe for over-the-top violence, it keeps the tone dialed back, steering away from the more brutal feel of something like Death Race 2000. Awkwafina and Cena have great chemistry, and the movie races away at a relentless pace, and I laughed out loud at the TMNT running gag. It won't win many awards, but for its run time, it's a good time!
