- PhysicalMedia4Life2026年7月26日Say what you want about this movie, but there's actually a lot to be seeked out here! As the movie has multiple alternate endings. And one of the alternate endings really brings together the whole point of the movie. Is the movie flawed, with a very weak twist "Yes" but also at the same time is it a competently made and a very watchable movie, with really strong performances at the center of it in Robert De Niro & Dakota Fanning "Absolutely" I love also the setting I thought it was perfect, it really gave off that atmosphere & sense of dread I thought. Also it's well shot and the cinematography looks great as well. Don't get me wrong Hide and Seek is no masterpiece whatsoever, but it does have redeeming qualities. Just subvert your expectations when it comes to the twist; as its staring you in the face. I do think for those of you who haven't seen it before, will like it for what it is, if you go into it with mindset. And don't forget to watch all of the multiple alternate endings also!!! My Personal Ratings for (Hide and Seek 2005) and I'm going with my prefferd alternate ending here! A very solid 6.75/10 & a 3.75/5 Stars 🌟
- stuhannaford2026年3月11日A pretty run of the mill thriller/horror of the early 2000's. Slow burning, relatively creepy, but the build up leads to a bit of a flat final run in. The end sequence (UK) also feels a bit tacked on for an, 'oh wow' moment, that is more meh, than anything else. De Niro never feels particularly believable as the father, and the supporting cast are too sporadic in appearance for you to have any real feeling for. Fanning is excellent, and shows real fear and terror in most of her scenes, of which she steals. All in all, a decent thriller, which keeps you watching, but not overly gripped.
