- James Saenz2026年7月26日genuinely don’t know what to think of this film. multiple people walked out of my showing, and i can’t really blame them. it’s so weird, but it’s beautifully shot with a captivating soundtrack. story time: i was one of two people who stayed till the very end of the end credits, and i locked eyes with the other person for like half a second before i rushed to the restroom— i was the only person in there at that time. i went to pee at a urinal, and moments later that same man sidles up to the urinal right next to me, starts to pee, and then looks straight up and asks aloud, “do you understand what the fuck it is we just watched?” i burst out laughing. he broke urinal code but it was so earnest and we had a wonderful conversation about the film all the way to the parking lot. that’s what the movies are all about, baby: two people with their dicks out earnestly talking about cinema at the urinals.
- Lino2026年8月3日Great cinematography, but who cares? I wanted to like this, but it's one of the most boring, nonsensical, pretentious nothing-burger films I've ever seen. Sophie Thatcher is such a wonderful actress but was wasted on this dreck. In fact I don't blame any of the actors at all, they did what they could with this steaming pile. Half a star for them, everyone should be fired and ashamed.

Twice I fell asleep during the second act. Now that I have some context I feel like the third try (at home) will be the charm!
- Hipster ZOMBIE2026年7月28日“Her Private Hell” is almost critic proof. Like a retro Giallo horror film, this film is light on story and big on neon light illuminating mist surrounding a futuristic city inhabited by beautiful people being stalked and murdered by mysterious assailant known only as “The Leather Man.” The film follows Elle played the amazing Sophie Thatcher who is running out of time trying to find her father as the mist surrounding the city seems to want to trap her in its haze so the Leather Man can claim her as his next victim. Across the city is an American GI named Private K who is desperate to find his daughter. Actor Charles Melton brings a quiet intensity to the role that has you questioning whether he motivations are heroic or underlined by evil intentions. Beyond that the film is like trying to explain a fever dream after waking up in a bathroom stall in a club where the DJ is just barely getting into his most aggressive beats in his set. Visually this film is so easy to fall in love with. The musical score also stays with you by creating a sonic dreamscape that alternates between old Hollywood glam to the blistering beats of a nightclub rave. If I were to simply judge this film based off its storytelling, it gets an incomplete because most of the things that go on and actions the characters take make little to no sense. However this is a Nicolas Winding Refn film who is famous for his Ryan Gosling’s “Drive” and despite being visually and audibly fantastic also suffered from a wonky script with weird dialogue and no dialogue choices. So I’m split down the middle on this one. Parts of it I love and there are times I’m was looking at my phone wondering what the hell is going on.
- SirMonkalot2026年7月19日This was so WEIRD but at the same time so great! It’s been a while since I’ve seen a movie that looked this good! The set designs, the costumes, just everything was so damn pretty. The story was pretty cool and how it was presented was super weird but honestly, whenever my brain was like “man this is fucking weird, what am I watching?!”, I would just get distracted by the pretty pictures and all was well in the world. I was genuinely entertained and the action scenes, though very few, were pretty dope. Definitely not for everyone, watch at your own risk!
