It’s well-written, well-directed, well-acted, well-paced and genuinely well-produced. The remake doesn’t even hold a candle in capturing what made the original such a gem. Even with a few dated effects (like most films of its era) it still holds up remarkably... well!

Difficult to call it a horror, even at the time, with lots of goofy lines, goofier characters and a humorous and playful look at classic horror movie tropes rather than gore galore. Not so many Fright's, but will offer a good, old fashioned movie Night in.
