- Rick Tracewell5天前I wrote a review of Fletch for my high school newspaper in 1985. I said this same general thing: If you go to a Chevy Chase movie expecting an Oscar worthy film, you need therapy. For an 80s comedy, the plot was clever, there were plenty of twists to keep you guessing, and best yet, tons and tons of classic Chevy Chase smart ass comments throughout. I've probably seen it four or five times over the years and it never disappoints. It still stands up.

I really liked this story, it feels like it could have starred Eddie Murphy, Sylvester Stallone or Mel Gibson in the 1980s, and it would have still been a great movie. And a big shout out to Faltermeyer, who does another brilliant soundtrack.
