The performances are solid, and the film carries a sincerity that stops it feeling cynical or overly glossy. It’s earnest in a way that’s easy to appreciate, especially if you’re already fond of the original story. It’s not trying to be clever or subversive. It’s content to be a modern fairy tale, and judged on those terms, it does exactly what it sets out to do. 🍵 A warm cup of tea — familiar, comforting, and quietly satisfying.
