Some great laughs, I’m glad the filmmakers didn’t take themselves seriously with this reboot but instead spoofed it. Casting and obvious improv was a hoot to watch. #unlucky

As a huge James L. Brooks fan, I’m deeply confused how out of touch with reality this film came to be— a new governor who could easily pass for 19, with seemingly unlimited hours to annoy her younger brother and pry into his romance woes? Are you serious? Why oh why.

If you’re hungry for horror, you’ll be satisfied. Disturbingly well done— both from a psychological perspective and just fucked up shit gone wrong. In this genre, that’s high praise.

Hugh and Kate’s performances are quite moving. I was impressed by the transformation since I’ve seen the documentary on the real Lightning & Thunder (can be found on YouTube)— it’s nice that this film captures some pieces of the early story that the documentary couldn’t cover. Wish they showed original footage of them performing during the ending credits. Mike deserved that ;)

The Heartbreak Kid
Grodin at his absolute peak! Masterclass of cringe humor— but also a landmark comedy of its time for an unlikeable lead character while being rooted in something far deeper by the end. Thanks to Neil Simon’s screenplay, ‘The Heartbreak Kid’ is a perfect example of a genre film bended towards something real. Skip Ben Stiller’s remake.

If you can't see into the soul of this film, you've never experienced depression. What's so harrowing about The Bansheees of Inisherin isn't what's happening to these characters but why. It's themes— backstory— symbolism. So much yarn to unwind if you're open to it.

Buckle up— Yorgos has his foot on the gas. Don't worry, you can breathe during the end credits. Every single performance, shot, editorial choice is top shelf and as usual, unlike anything else you've seen before.

Linklater and Hawke lure you in within the first ten minutes— then suddenly you find yourself chasing every piece of dialog at the chance of filling out this canvas. Qualley is stunningly captivating and Ethan Hawke's transformation goes from a simple combover to devistatingly human. Beautifully tight from end to end, chef's kiss.
