Im always a sucker for an early 2000s horror movie with all the expected beats, truly comforting. I would recommend this movie even without a high rating, you either hate it or love to hate it. I also recently had a fun fact given to me. The voice actor for Atlas from the game Bioshock Karl Hanover used Gabriel Byrne as a model for his accent and its pretty dead on once you notice it haha.Ghost Ship - Felon
What a payoff at the end. I wasn't expecting much but got more and more engrossed. This is a good movie but it follows the tropes too closely and the villian turns too evil. It gets too ridiculous to be a great movie but if youre into the genre its worth watching.Felon - Return to Silent Hill
Yeah let's just put more than half the action on a ridiculously big green screen set. Then do a bunch of waves of bugs plus flowing water cgi because those are both easy and always look good. AND THEN a practical monster to bait you because that's 30 seconds just to funnel you into another cgi bug. I can't fix everything but: 1. Try writing something two people would say to each other 2. Use a water cannon to make dyed water look like acid 3. Don't just use characters names and actually use source material 4. Amazing dedication to a style choice, the zooms, the hold on faces, the outfits. Top quality. Its a bit ridiculous but since I assume that's intended I wont strike anything for that. Handles gender issues well and with no nuance but its again just the style.The Love Witch - Promare
Im glad i gave this a rewatch because all I remember was the intense visuals and I was plesently surprised by a solid story. Honestly its something different thats fun, bonus for being family friendly and not cookie cutter. Deserves a lot of props for that.Promare - Barbie
