Where to Watch Misfits of Science
- Richard18 oktober 2025Saw this in the mid-'80s, back when superhero shows were more weird than epic. A shrinkable scientist, a telekinetic teen and a guy who shoots lightning from his hands, all working for a think tank that somehow lets them fight crime. It was chaotic, campy and kind of brilliant. Dean Paul Martin played Dr. Hayes like a laid back leader and yes, that was a young Courteney Cox as Gloria, pre-Friends, pre-everything. But let’s be honest: I wanted to be Johnny B. The leather jacket, the lightning powers, the rockstar swagger, he was the cool mutant every teen in the '80s secretly wanted to be. Running down alleys in slow motion, sparks flying, synth music pulsing, it was pure MTV superhero fantasy. The effects were clunky, the plots were bonkers and the tone swung between goofy and surprisingly heartfelt. As a teen, it felt fresh, like superheroes without the spandex or the moral lectures.
