13-year-old Molly travels to Ærø with her mother and older sister. They bring their grandfather to live in a nursing home. He is affected with dementia and doesn't remember her anymore. A piece of amber, however, brings back a glimpse of his past. He was once the island's notorious smuggling kingpin - and one valuable cargo is still hidden somewhere on the island. Together with her cousin Christian, Molly sets out to find the treasure, before her grandfather's memories fade completely.
