Where the film struggles is in its length and pacing. At times, the story feels bloated, with subplots that dilute the sharp focus that made the first installment so effective. The attempt to weave a sprawling crime drama is admirable, but it occasionally slows the momentum between the jaw-dropping action sequences. Still, the craftsmanship of the action, combined with the gritty atmosphere and strong performances, makes "The Raid 2" a thrilling experience.
