- ronwilding33013 oktober 2025Layers and layers of emotions throughout this movie. It leaves one with a haunting recollection that the holocaust was a long nightmare for so many innocent people. It is stark as well as startling in its presentation. I felt myself wanting to look away. For me, it was a portrait of the will to survive under intolerable atrocities. It is believable and important in its historical context.
- Judit Garrido7 augusti 2025Excellent movie, I have seen it before , still cried and cried.
- Nick B1 augusti 2025The accelerating descent into the Holocaust from the Polish perspective is witnessed in excruciating detail from the perspective of a Jewish pianist. A poignant period piece that should be mandatory viewing in every World War II history course and a powerful warning from our past to be carried into the collective human future.
- Balsey Dean De Witt 23 juli 2025Great movie, one of Adrien Brody’s early movies (2002)
- Charles London19 maj 2025An absolutely amazing true story of Holocaust survival through a combination of immense musical talent, personal connections, stoic determination, and the grace of incredibly good fortune. It has to be seen to be believed. Polanski's film washes over you like a Chopin nocturne, replete with passages of deep emotion, ascending notes of tension, sudden tumultuous movements, and haunting interludes. Prepare to be affected and keep a tissue handy. The audience feels Szpilman's emotional pain and utter exhaustion...then ultimately his bittersweet relief.
