- SandyOlson7816 februari 2026I didn't mean to watch this, but it was on. It's what you would expect from a movie like this. The story was decent, I guess, but the parts where it would show long shots of the womens' breasts felt unnecessary. If the one girl didn't want her little sister to come downstairs because she wasn't wearing a shirt, then don't walk around the house without one on. I suppose that it wasn't a terrible movie if I watched the whole thing without planning to, but I don't feel the need to watch the other 4.
- jjete11−16 hThis is one of the best horror/slasher movies of the eighties! Unlike other slasher movies of this decade, SNDN delves more directly into how the antagonist becomes the villain of the story. Other movies from this sub genre just lightly taps into the killer’s origin and what made that person snap. In addition this movie also highlights how red flags should be seen and addressed, rather than be buried. What one trauma leads to more trauma, through exploitation and abuse. A lot of horror movies, use these social issues. to This is to help people become more aware of things that can turn into a disaster in our real world. Unfortunately certain scrupulous critics and organizations of that time (November 1984)did not give this movie a chance to live up to its potential. The same type of people, pushed real hard to get this movie out of theaters. I only recommend this movie and it’s 2025 reboot! The sequels are terrible and that includes the 2012 remake!

- One Maggi after Another26 oktober 2025"PUNISHMENT IS NECESSARY. IT IS GOOD" I can't believe I call myself a horror cultist and I hadn't heard of Silent Night, Deadly Night earlier. I can't believe I call myself a horror cultist and I hadn't known about Silent Night, Deadly Night earlier. I can't believe I call myself a horror cultist and I hadn't seen Silent Night, Deadly Night earlier. I don't get why tf this is so underrated af. I don't get why tf nobody includes this in his/her list of top 100 horror movies. People don't understand this gem of a movie man. I guess they've heard or seen one too many Halloween and Christmas folklores that they now can't cope with anything different. I guess they've been educated enough to have forgotten what the world is like in reality.
- Joseph Burke8 december 2025Solid 80’s slasher that is getting a new adaption dropping in theaters next week with a modern adaption, which I’m super stoked for. The film does a great job of having intense scenes of trauma, mental health and really setting up the psyche of a serial killer. From a childhood trauma that left Billy orphaned as a child and teen, he could not escape the horror of what happened to his family. The film focuses on the moment in which Billy snaps, and his mental state becomes compromised workout properly dealing with what happened to his family years prior. From the lens of an 80’s slasher, don’t sleep on this cult classic.
- makdelart28 november 2025One third of the film is devoted to the psychological background of the main character, the rest is a series of murders. However, the whole thing is dull and unconvincing, kitschy like it was in the 1980s.
- Cult_Classic_Fan7 november 2025Been wanting to see this for a long long time. Cult classic and lived up to its name. Must watch if you are a cult classic fanatic
- jackmeat22 augusti 2025My quick rating - 5.4/10. I really doubt this movie would've had a fraction of the popularity it does if it weren't for basically what the poster states. Oops, I never finished this up. So, one of the more infamous Santa flicks ever to be made, I even remember when this came out, and the big deal about banning it from theaters. But if you get past that nonsense, what you are left with is an above-average slasher flick. Not in the acting department, though, since at times that is just plain silly. But the story itself plays out well with a young kid witnessing his parents brutally killed (mother raped as well), and what becomes of him after being sent to some abusive orphanage. But where this movie does step away from the norm is that it takes its time actually developing the madness that is building in his head. I will give them credit for that, since until the blood starts flowing, there are some actual points of notice as far as why he is so messed up (like what I mentioned isn't enough) and what leads to him snapping. When he does make it over the breaking point, it goes full swing with some fairly violent kills that are better suited for the uncut version if seeking it out. The nature of the film and how it plays out is pretty creepy, though. The characters that are used especially will make you feel uneasy, notably the grandpa. As expected, though, with all the setup, especially the effective opening scene, where his everyday job requires him to dress up as Santa. I am sure you can see where that ends up going. It definitely has its claim to fame due to the massive amount of backlash it had due as wanting it censored is not even allowed in theaters. But for what it is, a slasher flick, it has its moments that make it memorable for reasons beyond the Santa suit.
