Paul Walker’s character isn’t the T-1000, but he’s got that same blind faith in his own survival, while the city is less a home and more a ticking time bomb. Sarah Connor would be the first to point out the warning signs, but everyone else is too busy chasing power to notice. The T-800 would be reading the map, and the T-1000 would be the only one who could survive the chaos. The movie feels like a real-world version of Terminator 2, except instead of a robot apocalypse, it’s a moral apocalypse. The shootout happens not because of a malfunction, but because the people in charge ignored every red flag, every expert, and every rule in the book. Hasta la vista, baby — because if Dyson, the T-800, the T-1000, Sarah Connor, and the mobsters of Running Scared all argued over who gets the last bullet, John Connor would be the only one left to actually survive the shootout. And honestly, at this point, I’d just let the T-1000 have it. That motherf***er can regenerate, man—let him reload his bullets.

En knarkuppgörelse går riktigt fel. Mitt under utbytet av varor och kontanter stormar tre beväpnade män in. Det hela slutar med en massaker och två korrupta poliser mördas. Som lågt stående maffiamedlem är det Joey Gazelles (Paul Walker) uppgift att göra sig av med de ”heta” vapnen. Problemet är bara att han sparat allihopa nere i sin källare. När hans sons lekkamrat Oleg (Cameron Bright), stjäl just denna pistol och skjuter sin misshandlande styvfar, börjar problemen. Som om inte detta vore nog är Olegs styvfar kusin till en rysk maffiaboss, alltså ingen man vill leka med. Med vapnet som skjutit två poliser, ute på gatan ligger Joey riktigt illa till. Han måste nu med båda sidor hack i häl, hitta pistolen innan den finner sin väg till polisen eller än värre maffian.
