- GreggSr2 maj 2026A solid 3½ stars. Flash Gordon leans hard into its 1980s roots, campy dialogue, bold colors, and that unmistakable Queen soundtrack, but that’s exactly its strength. It hasn’t aged in a conventional sense, it’s aged like fine 80s wine. What might feel over the top today actually enhances its charm, making it a nostalgic, unapologetically fun ride. Not a masterpiece, but absolutely iconic for what it is.
- Gianni Cavuoto1 januari 2026What a great movie…..if you like campy and fun. It's so awesome I can watch it time and time again. I couldn't help but notice the similarities between “The Wizard of Oz” and Flash Gordon but it doesn't distract from it at all. I am really impressed with the amount of time and money that De Laurentiis spent on the sets, models and costuming. They were definitely at the height of their powers with the B movie genre for sure. The other thing that really impressed me was how closely the models, spaceships and the overall feel of the movie was like the 1930s serials. Do we need to even mention the brilliance of the soundtrack? Of course we do, it's a bit sparse and repetitive at times but the Theme song is worth the price of admission alone!!! Thank you Queen.
- Zokkiie22 januari 2026This movie is pure vibes. It’s loud, cheesy, and completely unapologetic about it, which is why it’s such a beloved cult classic. The visuals are wild, the Queen soundtrack goes insanely hard, and the whole thing feels like it’s having way more fun than it probably should. It’s not deep and it’s definitely goofy, but that’s the appeal. Easy, ridiculous fun from start to finish.
