Where to Watch Fascination
- blair−6 da fun little film! i think i liked it a little less than Lips of Blood but rewatches may change that. there's some really gorgeous shots of the central chateau, i really enjoyed the setting partly because of that. i love gothic fiction so this was very close to being super up my alley but i got a little bored around halfway and was unsatisfied with how little it felt "dreamlike" due to how often i've heard this one described as dreamlike, but a rewatch will probably fix that since i know what to expect now. also the sexuality left much to be desired. a lot of the sexuality felt extremely superficial, which was pretty disappointing for a filmmaker that has a big reputation for being pretty horny. lots of nudity and sex but not much sensuality. it's kinda funny that the most sensual scene in the film for me was the one at the very end where there's little to no sexuality actively on display. anyways, i liked it overall but it could have been better. loved the big scythe, and the chateau, and the pretty women.
