Where to Watch Dark Shadows
- Spanktacular14 augusti 2025It's like the last episodes of American Horror Story (any season) where they just start throwing bullshit at the wall, but you watch it out of curiosity or masochism. Let's bring in werewolves right at the end because who gives a rat's ass, nobody made it to the end anyways. Killer cast, but the editing and tone are all over the place. Never goes all-in on the camp or comedy, starts dark but then there are a bunch of 1970s boomer rock musical montages? Cool to see Johnny Depp speak like Matt Barry though.
- Arniox23 maj 2026Idk, I think it's ok. Depp as a vampire is very fun. But I think this movie tried too hard to both be very serious and take itself seriously, and also have slapstick humour. Like English humour but unfortunately done poorly. It was too early in its era, before the good slapstick horror thriller genre came along with better movies out there.
