Concrete, steel, wood, glass and clay – our architecture is unthinkable without them. Houses, cities and even entire cultures emerged from these materials! They shape regions and have been used for thousands of years. We have these “miracle materials” to thank for great and still emblematic buildings, but – like concrete and steel – they are now considered climate killers or are not sustainable enough. What alternatives are there?
