Convicted to community service at the veterans hospital, Laura Richards soon became the crippled soldier patients' favorite, and a regular to the envy of the 'real professionals' when engaged full-time. She disappears after taking a particular interest in an Iraq veteran who can't accept having his amputated leg replaced by a prosthesis. The plot turns ugly as the team stumbles upon a terrorist plan.
