Taeko Hamaoka is an ordinary housewife who lives with her husband Yoichi and son Akira. She spends her days taking care of her family and working part-time at a supermarket. Recently, Taeko has felt like someone has been watching her. About two weeks after she first felt like she was being watched, Hayato Saijo appears in front of her and introduces himself as a staff member for famous actress Kinuyo Wakana's management office. He tells her that she has the same face and voice as Kinuyo. Hayato asks if she would be willing to act as her stand-in for an apology press conference over a scandal. Actress Kinuyo has gone into hiding abroad because of the scandal.
