It's meant to push past your ideas of comfort or rules or something else for the participants, making you think about something you normally wouldn't on a day to day.

I'm sure I wasn't alone in thinking he didn't manage to 'land the plane' in season one. However, season two, both figuratively and literally, takes The Rehearsal to new, exciting and challenging heights. Fascinating and terrifying. A must watch.
