In the event the video game producer of The Last of Us makes a sequel where you can play the fungi folks and hunt annoying and obnoxious humans, it will gross more money than World of Warcraft, Fortnite, and League of Legends combined.

Joel's character should be portrayed as emotionally closed off, haunted by the grief and guilt of losing his daughter, which has made him cold and seemingly heartless. Ellie, on the other hand, should embody a lovable personality with an innocent, childlike charm that remains untainted by the harshness of the world, serving as a reflection of Joel’s daughter. This dynamic is where their connection should shine. However, Bella Ramsey’s portrayal of Ellie seems limited, oscillating between expressions of anger and silliness, lacking the depth needed for the role. While Pedro Pascal is an adequate choice for Joel, there were arguably more fitting candidates. Additionally, the inclusion of certain woke elements feels forced, detracting from the core story. Ultimately, it feels like the potential of this show was undermined by casting decisions and creative direction.

Season one was great, and season two has been equally as good. Especially the second episode of season two, wow. Looking forward to seeing where they go with all of this.

The second season let me down. Truly, it’s only because of what happens at the beginning. Iykyk. It completely changed the show for me and it was hard to watch after that. I’ll still tune in for the next season. It’s just not as great of a show anymore but still very good with a good storyline.
