New arrival John is introduced to policing Roy Bramhall-style when he witnesses him deliberately smash the tail-light of a man and issue him with a penalty notice. New recruit Karen is shown the ropes by Natalie. Finding young tear-away Davvo at the scene of a theft, the cops immediately handcuff him but the victim of the theft informs them that Davvo is working for him on a burger stand and also lives with him. Dealing with the case of a pregnant teenage runaway Natalie allows herself to become too emotionally involved.
