They had headed into what was reportedly a cursed forest in an attempt to document the myth of the notorious Blair Witch and multiple murders that occurred in the area.
They end up lost in the woods, as eerie sounds and events draw them further into danger, with disappearances and the feeling that something evil is haunting them- and making them its target!
