- Bmanorvor 6 TagenHONESTLY not a bad show showing the integration of different species from other worlds and some good battle scenes however a couple of things Do all intergalactic beings copulate the same way as human earthlings do and are their organs in the same spot [yes there is a very mild sex scene] Does Star Fleet have a guide to the array of different vessels in fleet
- John F. Doran22. März 2026I’m glad I ignored the flood of zero-rating reviews and watched this for myself. I’ve been an avid Star Trek fan since seeing The Original Series during its first run as a kid, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years, it’s that Star Trek has always been hit-or-miss. The Motion Picture fell flat for me, while The Wrath of Khan was incredible. Deep Space Nine didn’t resonate, but Voyager is something I still revisit every year. I loved Picard and had mostly positive impressions of Discovery. Star Trek: Starfleet Academy is a different kind of entry, and I genuinely enjoyed it for what it is. It tries something new, which has always been part of what Star Trek is about. For those purists tearing it apart, I think that misses the bigger picture. Gene Roddenberry’s vision of the future was rooted in progress—and progress inherently involves change. Expecting every new installment to mirror the past overlooks that core idea.
- Davorin Cawood20. März 20260 Stars!!!! this is the worst Star Trek series of all time!! absolute poo poo, do not reccommend at all!! it is a waste of time.
- gooserex17. März 2026Woke slope, poorly written, and 'science' that is laughable at best.
- Arthas Menethil16. Januar 2026WTF, this is not Star Trek. Watching an action fugure of Spock sitting in a chair is more entertaining. Somebody please fire Kurtzman.
- Junior Reyes15. März 2026What a frustration. The intention to be inclusive feels less like a box checked on a marketing checklist and more like a poorly told story—and for a lifelong *Star Trek* fan, that is a bitter pill to swallow. I have prepared a review that condenses all the key issues of this season—the vulgarity, the lack of discipline, the technological inconsistencies, and the superficial character development—while maintaining a firm, critical tone, and carefully choosing my language to avoid censorship. *Star Trek: Starfleet Academy* – An Absolute Disappointment. As a follower of the franchise, watching *Starfleet Academy* has been less of a pleasure and more of an ordeal. Although it is marketed as a necessary evolution, the reality is that we are dealing with a product that embodies the worst aspects of modern "woke" content: cheap, hollow posturing that utterly destroys the essence of what Gene Roddenberry created. 1. The Normalization of Vulgarity: Ever since the Abrams films, an unnecessary vulgarity has infiltrated the franchise. In *The Next Generation*, they didn't need profanity to captivate us; they presented us with an advanced, respectful society. Here, the dialogue feels forced and lacks the wit and grace of a well-written script. 2. Lack of Discipline and Respect for Rank: It is unacceptable to see Dean Nala (Holly Hunter) sitting on the bridge with her feet propped up on the chair, or reading a book as if she were relaxing in her own living room. If those in authority do not respect their rank or demonstrate discipline, how are they supposed to train the cadets? Michael Burnham—for all the criticism she received—at least respected the bridge. 3. Technological Inconsistencies and "Inclusive Posturing": Setting a series a thousand years in the future, only to feature a cadet in a manual wheelchair or another wearing prescription glasses, is ridiculous—and even condescending. In a society equipped with programmable matter and advanced medical technology, this isn't inclusion; it’s a complete lack of imagination. We have certainly had characters with disabilities before—such as Geordi La Forge or the blind alien in *Strange New Worlds*—but their limitations were addressed through futuristic technology or heightened senses, not with elements borrowed from the 20th century. 4. The Ruination of Klingon Culture: The handling of Jiden Crack is lamentable. They aim to explore his identity, yet they do so in a purely superficial manner. Presenting a Klingon warrior—one who supposedly has not renounced his culture—wearing a female-style uniform skirt solely because he is gay, and without any underlying cultural rationale, is nothing more than hollow posturing. They get bogged down in the "parents vs. children" conflict we have seen a thousand times over, rather than genuinely developing the lore of his species. 5. Unnecessary Militarization: The introduction of a "military academy" distinct from Starfleet itself contradicts the exploratory spirit that defines the franchise. The entire production feels like a generic American teen drama—mimicking shows like *Sex Education*, but without any of their quality or depth. My opinion: If you want to see diversity done right, watch *The Orville* or even the classic *Star Trek* series. *Starfleet Academy* is a hollow showcase that merely uses the *Star Trek* brand name to attract an audience, while showing no respect for the franchise's legacy. It is mediocre trash that I would not recommend to anyone. If a second season were to materialize—and I even heard that they are supposedly planning a third—I hope they manage to rectify all these flaws. This franchise holds the potential for a great story, yet its execution leaves nothing but a bad memory; either they reinvent themselves, or they will finish burying what little audience they have left.
- Patrick16. Januar 2026Edit* I'm dropping my rating down as this has not kept the excitement and pace of the first episode. I hope the characters can be fleshed out and show their strengths. I guess there has always been a thought that all Starfleet officers are the best of, types of people. This works. Actually liking the parallels with the current political climate and the hope for a better future. I imagine it brings back the nostalgia of what star trek is supposed to represent.
- Colonel Ron Aronoff - U.S.A.R.15. März 2026CANCELLED - Sponge Bob beats in viewers, 27-year-old cartoon. Mr. Krabs would you buy advertisement on Starfleet Academy? "That's me money you want, burning it would at least give us heat." Plankton's 'Chum Bucket' has more patrons than this Star Trek: Starshit Academy has viewers. 0 stars would have said it all. Kurtzman made Chris Pine expunge his insides from this inebriated written show. It definitely is NOT imbued with the hand of Roddenberry. I love what Giamatti said: 'you can only do so much with the material they handed me.' Says it all. Paramount had Kathleen Kenedy as a consultant on loan from Disney. Only someone of an enervated intellect can enjoy this Imagine these individuals graduating to become ensigns (0-1)? Then being promoted through the ranks as military low to mid-level officers (0-2,0-3, etc.)? "Klingons on the starboard bow!! It's Khan" [say in a high-pitched voice] "H-e-l-p, H-E-L-P !! Oh no we weren't trained for this. We were too busy doing everything but learning how to actually defend our fleet and be trained in the use of weapons. Raise the white flag; we give up. H-E-L-P!' "Lower it, we'll just transmit these episodes and they'll hypper jump to 5 different alternative universes toget away." McCoy "Jim, there is no testosterone here, in fact estrogen is not here either. Only a overweight blob of a hologram who just killed her career, a bunch of weenies, duds and Giamattti, trying, ever so trying to make fecal soup edible" Jim "Scotty beam me anywhere away from this inept and maladroit crew."
- williamw83414. März 2026This show had its ups and downs, but at its core it’s TREK. I loved this show and season two has me excited for what’s next. Everyone hating on it is old and boring, this show was amazing and i recommend that every Trekkie should watch it.
- Queensland Famdamily18. Januar 2026About as boring as Discovery. Not your father's Star Trek.
- Chris Val14. März 2026They literally screw the Star Trek last 2 Movies after Picard. Who is the autor of this movie. Sorry but junkie will make a better and more interesting script. This season's movie pointing stories without any idea or soooo dumb stories, sorry, but after Picard it is a disaster. The only thing they are pushing in viewers' eyes is the WOKE agenda and all "gender neutrality" stuff! This particular Academy is full of crap! common really!
- Ricardo Arnaz CPA, ACCA USN-retired11. März 2026Cancelled even with season 2 made, show couldn't beat Sponge Bob. Thank you Mr. Krabs for getting your Navy buddies to cancel this noetic insult. Thank you for destroying my childhood in several episodes Paramount (paramount; the pinnacle / more like the septic tank). I loved Star Trek, the movies, Next Generation, Deep Space Nine but this is pure crap. I am 62 & grew up watching Sci-Fi Saturday coming out of either WOR, WPIX in NYC in the late 70's early 80's falling in love with Star Trek and the betterment of the world to get along. I realized at age 11 Lt. Uhura was a huge undertaken then that a female, let alone a black woman was 3rd in command on a ship in the 60's or a Russian at the helm during the Cold War. The allegories that Rodenberry placed in his episodes. Kurtzman was able to destroy 60 years in one show with this garbage!!! As a 22-year veteran of the US Navy and retired officer this is an insult to Annapolis, the other academies' & ROTC. A captain sitting sideways and barefoot at the com. The XO would first explain but in this show, he would be forced into a mutiny to have her deemed unfit to command. Even the French Navy would have her kicked out. Fat cadets that only thing they're competitive at is eating and whining wimps. Why don't they just tell the cadets to bend over and take it because that is what they're training.
- Mike_Thor17. Januar 2026Deep Space 90210 I'm on the fence and wondering where they're going to take this. EDIT: I added a half star to this review. If there is more writing like episode 5 I'll only increase my rating. If you only watch one episode of this series let it be episode 5.
- null8. März 2026Absolutely mind numbing "Star Trek in name only" drivel that you can safely skip.
- Moondog20108. März 2026This Trekkie from 1966 is very much enjoying this great new Star Trek series! It saddens me to see so many apparently bigoted/racist/body shaming folks hating on the show. They do not understand what Star Trek is about. Gene Roddenberry would be very disappointed in them! sigh! LLAP fellow True Trekkies!
- parralox28. Januar 2026Will people be watching this in 30 years? I’m no Betazoid but I can guess the answer 😂. I’ll watch Deep Space Nine now (THAT’S some great writing and acting ❤️)
- Parker Media7. Februar 2026A real disappointment. This show had a lot of potential but falls short. Another example of woke idealogy ruining a great franchise. I long for the days of Picard. Real Star Trek not this dribble.
- prophet907. März 2026i've enjoyed every episode so far and I am up to episode 9. I'm an old fan but I guess i'm more open minded than some because I can appreciate the changes they've made and enjoy the characters and stories.
