Many diseases of the body cause pain. The ability to diagnose different diseases depends on the professional's knowledge of the various forms of pain. Pain is a protective mechanism of the body; it occurs whenever tissues are being damaged and causes the person to act to remove the painful stimulus. But what is pain? How do we feel pain?
