The story follows the Rose family, a wealthy clan who loses everything (yes, everything) and is forced to move to the quaint town of Schitt's Creek, which they purchased as a joke. I mean, who wouldn't want to own a town, am I right? The family's fish-out-of-water story is pure comedy gold. Johnny Rose (the inimitable Eugene Levy) and his wife, Moira (the incomparable Catherine O'Hara), are forced to trade in their luxurious lifestyle for a motel room and a whole lot of small-town charm. Their kids, David and Alexis, are equally hilarious as they navigate love, careers, and the horrors of living in a town with one stoplight. The writing is witty, the acting is superb, and the humor is clever without being mean-spirited. It's like a warm hug for your funny bone. What truly sets this show apart, though, is its heart. Beneath all the snarky humor and over-the-top antics lies a beautiful story about family, love, and acceptance.
