Though bitterly disappointed in CHUNG, TONG has no intention of removing him from his present position. LEI CHEUNG-FUNG, who has applied for a job as Guard Escort, goes to Wui Yau for an interview. CHI asks his aunt YAN CHING, the interviewer, to offer FUNG the job. FUNG goes and buys her mother CHEUNG SHUEN a second-hand coat but SHUEN does not seem grateful. Thinking that it is a total waste of money, SHUEN gives FUNG and FUNG’s father LEI YUNG a good telling-off. Upon his appointment as the Fifth-ranked Official, TONG receives an inscribed board from Prince GONG as a present.
