TaxiCab driver Willem de Swaen is dragged out of his car and beaten so badly he later dies from his wounds. His company boss leans heavily on the police to arrest Moroccan student-cabbie Hamid, who had a fist-fight with Willem and has no alibi but his ma. Although warned by Paul, Leontien manages to break every rule in the book and loose Hamid while wearing her handcuffs. The only witness is a nightmare. She fails to shoot armed suspect Meral, who stood over the corps of her uncle Kadir, just because that's a deaf girl. She just assumes the killer must be a Turk she saw run away, later identified as Yilmaz.
