And, speaking of entertainment, Shawn’s also going to talk with a lawyer who specializes in the entertainment field.

You won’t believe your eyes as you witness him transforming a black canvas into a very cool portrait of Shawn. Then we’ll meet a primary care doctor who not only teaches residents but performs a much needed service in providing care for poor people in her area. We’ll also visit with an auctioneer and find out about his job and how he learned to talk so fast!

Today, we’re going to show you some careers that don’t require spending 4 years or more in college. Like tinkering with cars? We’ll learn about what it takes to become an auto technician and work on today’s increasingly complex automobiles. Maybe instead of working under the hood, you’d rather be working underwater. How about a career as a scuba instructor? Or perhaps the sight of pesky critters above the surface intrigues you. We’ll learn about a career in pest control.

    Episodio 6Shawn spent a day at the University of Central Florida’s Institute of Simulation and Training. Simulators can be used for almost every type of situation… from preparing soldiers to go into combat… to training teachers and nurses… to improving driver and piloting skills. The staff and students at UCF’s I S T are involved in researching how simulation can be improved upon and made even more real. Shawn was surprised to find that teams of all sorts of people work together on simulation research. Whether you’re interested in psychology… graphic arts… acting… engineering… history… computers… or architecture, to name a few. There’s something for just about everyone in this research field! We’ll visit the RAPTER group, the Robotics lab and the Media Convergence Lab.

    Episodio 7First up, Shawn will talk to a man who co-founded the Orlando Magic and is currently their Senior Vice President. He has a few tips to share with us. We’ll also get a glimpse into what it takes to put a TV show or commercial together when we meet the senior editor of a video production company. And then Shawn’s going to visit a physician who uses a form of medicine that’s dates back 5,000 years. It’s called acupuncture and involves the use of needles to treat conditions.

    Episodio 8Shawn will meet a business turnaround consultant who takes failing businesses and fixes them so that they become profitable once again. We’ll also learn how play therapy helps young patients understand their medical treatment and calm their fears when Shawn visits a child life specialist. He’ll also talk to a pharmacist who works to make patients safer by reducing the deaths and injuries that occur in hospitals due to errors in dispensing medication.

Shawn will start the show off by talking with a plastic & reconstructive surgeon who helps restore health to cancer survivors and make them feel whole again. Then he’ll then make a trip to the emergency room and visit a nurse who keeps her cool through the high stress of a level one trauma unit. Finally, he’ll take a jaunt up to the roof of the hospital to meet with a couple of paramedics who work to save lives as part of the Air Care Team.

Then he’ll talk to a man who uses his background in electrical engineering in his job as a product integration manager for a mining supply company. After that, he meets a jewelry designer who demonstrates how he creates beautiful jewelry from scratch!

We’ll also see how advances in nuclear medicine can pinpoint disease and abnormalities inside a person’s body, when Shawn talks to a nuclear medicine technologist. Finally, we’ll meet a midwife who is an outspoken advocate for women. She is on a mission to ensure that all women have the opportunity for a healthy pregnancy and birth.

And finally, Shawn will visit the shop of his neighborhood shoe repairman and got a peak into how he makes those worn out shoes and bags look new again.

And finally, Shawn will make a hospital visit to speak with a medical surgical nurse and find out how she cares for patients in this fast-paced, challenging and gratifying profession.

He’s also going to see how an ultrasound technologist uses sound waves to capture images of a pregnant woman’s baby to obtain different types of information about the baby.

Today, Shawn will visit a medical imaging facility and meet with a lady who uses latest advances in technology to conduct MRIs on patients. What’s an MRI, you ask?
