Season 18 sees 16 new designers ready to wow host Karlie Kloss, mentor Christian Siriano, and judges Nina Garcia, Brandon Maxwell, and Elaine Welteroth with their jaw-dropping fashions. This season brings back some elements of the competition that fans know and love, including the “Siriano Save,” which gives Christian the opportunity to bring one eliminated designer back into the competition, and the chance to present a final collection at New York Fashion Week.

    Blast OffWith luggage still in tow, 16 new designers are greeted at the iconic TWA Hotel at JFK airport. Paired off, they receive their first assignment: to create innovative jumpsuit and cocktail looks inspired by humanity's continued push into space exploration. They have $400 per team and two days to complete the challenge.
  • Cats Of the Urban Jungle

    Cats Of the Urban JungleIt's designers gone wild. In this week's challenge they must create a fresh take on a timeless classic: animal prints. Taking inspiration from the upcoming film, Cats, the designers need to tame their prints into cool street style looks that can compete on the runway and in the Flash Sale challenge.
  • Sleigh the Runway

    Sleigh the RunwayThe designers are tasked to create a party cocktail dress using winter holiday decorations. They have two days to complete the challenge.
  • The Ultimate Upcycle

    The Ultimate UpcycleThe designers must create a look for Karlie Kloss to wear to a Parisian event made of fabrics upcycled from garments found at Goodwill. They have $150 and one day to complete the challenge.
  • She's Sew Unusual

    She's Sew UnusualSplit into two teams, the designers must create cohesive mini-collections that pay homage to Cyndi Lauper and her iconic fashion style, including their own accessories. They have $300 per team member for fabric, $200 per team for accessory materials, and two days to complete the challenge.
  • There Is Only One You

    There Is Only One YouIn this week's challenge, the designers are given a chance to think about their family history and channel those stories and emotions into a look of their choosing. The stakes are high in this one day challenge, as the designers need to face and embrace who they are in order to succeed. Luckily for the designers, there's a surprise early on that will help boost their chances for success in this Flash Sale Challenge.

    Project Runway X Ashley LongshoreCollaborations between fashion designers and artists are all the rage. In this challenge, the designers get a chance to enter into one with the fashion industry's latest art darling, Ashley Longshore. Ashley's outrageous pop art, turned into one of a kind prints, gives the runway some of the boldest looks of the season.
  • Sheer Genius

    Sheer GeniusThe designers are tasked to create an editorial look using sheer fabrics. They have $300 and one day to complete the challenge.
  • Suit Yourself

    Suit YourselfThe designers must create a look that reinvents the classic tuxedo in a modern way. They have $600 and two days to complete the challenge.
  • Live and Let Tie Dye

    Live and Let Tie DyeTie dye is back in a big way and the designers will need to create their own textiles to elevate the trend from casual to couture. In a twist that may feel more like a trick to the designers, it's an overnight challenge. The designers go a bit mad working into the wee hours trying to perfect their techniques and complete their high end looks.
  • Olympic Game Plan

    Olympic Game PlanFor this challenge, the designers are paired up with an athlete competing in the Summer 2020 Olympic or Paralympic Games and they must make them their dream outfit for a victory night celebration. They have $400 and one day to complete their garments.
  • The Height Of Avant Garde Fashion

    The Height Of Avant Garde FashionThe designers must create an avant-garde look that is anything but ordinary for a showing at one of New York City's newest landmarks, The Vessel. They have $600 and two days to complete the challenge.
  • Finale: Part 1

    Finale: Part 1Each of the remaining designers is given five months and $10,000 to design a 10-piece collection for Fashion Week. In the interim, each gets a special visit in their hometown from Christian Siriano. Back in New York, they must choose three of their looks to show as part of a mini-collection in order to secure their spot in the final runway show.
  • Finale: Part 2

    Finale: Part 2In the conclusion of the finale, the remaining contestants ready their collections for the runway. They are given an additional $400 to spend at Mood to finish their looks. Then they present their lines to industry insiders at Fashion Week.
