Thanks to Leland, Charlie Brown's team wins, 27 to 26, therefore getting their uniforms (A recycled plotline is that Leland is so short the other team's pitcher either constantly walks him or beans him in his batting helmet). However, the team loses their next game because Leland has to quit because their new uniforms are too big for him, with Charlie Brown saying at the end, "It's not how you look, it's how you play the game."

The Peanuts kids substitute some characters, Snoopy being the Pied Piper. Snoopy plays concertina (squeezebox), with presumably David Benoit doing the honors. (Snoopy played accordion too a few times in the comic back in the early comics.)

Lucy is particular eager to help cure Linus' dependency using her own psychiatric techniques, and while Charlie Brown tries to help he doesn't have the heart to see Linus suffer. All the while Snoopy is constantly agitating the matter because he wants the blanket for himself.
