It's Spring Training, Charlie BrownThe special follows the spring training of Charlie Brown's baseball team, which is having problems. A child named Leland joins the team. Lucy points out that they are the only team without uniforms, so Charlie Brown and his team train hard for the first game of the season. Thanks to Leland, Charlie Brown's team wins, 27 to 26, therefore getting their uniforms (A recycled plotline is that Leland is so short the other team's pitcher either constantly walks him or beans him in his batting helmet). However, the team loses their next game because Leland has to quit because their new uniforms are too big for him, with Charlie Brown saying at the end, "It's not how you look, it's how you play the game." - It's the Pied Piper, Charlie BrownE39
It's the Pied Piper, Charlie BrownIt's the Pied Piper, Charlie Brown is a retelling of the story how the Pied Piper of Hamelin (portrayed by Snoopy) chased away all the mice from the town of Hamlet. The Peanuts kids substitute some characters, Snoopy being the Pied Piper. Snoopy plays concertina (squeezebox), with presumably David Benoit doing the honors. Happiness Is a Warm Blanket, Charlie BrownLinus is pushed to his limits when he learns his Grandma is coming to visit and plans on ridding him of his childish security blanket. As Grandma's arrival looms closer the Peanuts gang tries to help Linus cope without his fuzzy crutch. Lucy is particular eager to help cure Linus' dependency using her own psychiatric techniques, and while Charlie Brown tries to help he doesn't have the heart to see Linus suffer. All the while Snoopy is constantly agitating the matter because he wants the blanket for himself.
