- K1t5un3March 31, 2025Never trust a reviewer that says Tokyo Ghoul is better than Parasyte, ever. Parasyte is the best version of the two, there's not even a contest, Tokyo Ghoul lost it's story half-way through. That said, these type of edgy anime start to date themselves after awhile, because there's always going to be another edgier anime coming out. However, some edgier anime still hold up to modern scrutiny and I believe this is one of them. I'm a sucker for monster hunting genre and Parasyte never disappointed me, it was good all the way through the end, which is a lot more than Tokyo Ghoul can say.

What makes it stand out isn’t just the action or the mystery, but the bond between Shinichi and Migi — strange, tense, and surprisingly funny at times. Watching how their relationship shapes both of them is just as engaging as the bigger story. It’s thought-provoking, emotional, and full of character growth. If you like shows that mix deep ideas with intense moments and a unique duo at the center, Parasyte is a must-watch.
